India's GCC Moment

From World-Class Delivery to Global Innovation Leadership

The Leadership and People Imperative for India’s Global Capability Centers

India’s Global Capability Centers have built the world’s foremost capability ecosystem: 1,800+ centers, 1.9 million professionals, and a sector projected to reach $99–110 billion and 2.5–2.8 million employees by 2030. Over three decades, GCCs have moved from cost-arbitrage delivery arms to centers of global transformation, and they now stand at an inflection point.

But as mandates expand from operational excellence to innovation leadership, a core question emerges: Who will lead the next chapter, and are GCCs building the leaders and people systems to take them there?

We drew on research from EY, Deloitte, NASSCOM-Zinnov, Gallup, Gartner, and Korn Ferry. We overlaid it with Pragati Leadership’s four decades of leadership and culture-building experience and our Enterprise Value Diagnostic© (EVD©). The result is a practical point of view for GCC Business Heads and CHROs.
