From Startup Founder to Innovator in Healthcare Tech
In his acceptance speech, he thanked his family and team members who have been important during his journey of starting Mindbowser and growing it to achieve new heights. Speaking about the health tech sector, Ayush said the biggest challenge was the inaccessibility and unavailability of information. The next part of his acceptance speech comprised the three things that have been important in his journey of leading a pack of innovators.
Driving Change Through Learning, Accessibility, and Experimentation
The first thing was having an open mindset to accept new learnings. He spoke about the importance of different courses like inspirational leadership training and other similar programs. An important aspect of learning is to be willing to learn the boring things like repeatedly listening to customer call recordings to discover their problems and then working with the team to find innovative ways to overcome these issues.
The second thing was accessibility given to the team members in different ways like courses, employee leadership training, and networking. To build and develop network, Aysuh organizes meetups and became an organizer for Startup Grind Pune and 1 million Club in Pune to meet people and exchange ideas with other participants. He believes in finding small dots and discussing with his team to drive innovation and success.
Finally, he spoke about the importance of experimentation. Questioning the status quo and asking tough questions others may be hesitant to ask has helped Ayush build an organizational culture driven by creativity and innovative thinking.
The Future of Health Tech in India
The Indian healthcare industry is an important contributor to the nation’s economic growth. The sector’s evolution is characterized by higher coverage, better services, and increased investments from private and public players. At the forefront of the evolution are health tech startups.
These organizations have reshaped healthcare delivery and made it more accessible, efficient, and patient-centric. The country’s public expenditure increased from 1.6% of GDP in FY 2021 to 2.1% in FY 2023. However, India still lags in terms of the global average public sector expenditure on healthcare as a percentage of GDP.
Healthcare startups have a pivotal role in revolutionizing the sector and offer innovative solutions to streamline tasks for doctors and hospitals. According to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), healthcare and life sciences boasts more than 10,000 recognized startups in 2023. And almost 47% of these are from Tier II and Tier III cities. The number of recognized startups in this sector has grown at a CAGR of 127% between 2016 and 2023. Based on the trends, the Indian health tech industry is poised for expansion and forecasts indicate a potential size of $50 billion by 2033, which is an approximate CAGR of 26%.
At the conclusion of his speech, Ayush said that having touched over one million lives, Mindbowser has only scratched the surface and a lot is happening in this space and the entire team is looking forward to being a part of this growth.
